One Fine Day. . .
So, I began my New Year by being nice to the Earth, sorta.
I planted eight trees today, but I also burnt up six bags of hickory chunks to smoke a beef brisket. Thankfully, I am normal in that I feel no guilt for the latter. I am, however, excited about the former.
I planted 2 Elberta peach, 1 Orient pear, 1 Bartlett pear, 2 live oak and 2 Japanese flowering cherry trees. Only 12 more trees to go!
This is what I get for joining the Arbor Day Foundation. They put my but-tocks to work!
How romantic it was, my first thought of planting a variety of trees. . .a little color here, something for the deer to eat there. Sheesh, what a fool I was!
I am now a master hole digger. Excavator extraordinaire! I even hummed Swing Low Sweet Chariot while digging.
However, let me tell you sumthin' pal-o-mine, if you call me wanting help in planting your trees. . .you can fugghettaboutit babe!
And now, to celebrate my new trees. . .here's a video of a V-8 powered chainsaw:
Enjoy!
