I've kept up with Tori since Boys for Pele and she is such a unique and talented performer.
I guess why I like her so much is not simply for her rare beauty or kooky and vague subject matter, but you can see in her live performances that she is completely overcome by the power of her music. Her music is her and vice-versa.
I've always argued that performers on her level, the music, is like listening to God speak to them with his word ultimately passed on in the form of the music to you or me.
Maybe an esoteric view of God from my perspective, but with some musicians it just seems as if the music if coming from some very distant place that only they can see and that power is channeled through them by some unseen force.
