Fish Food. . .

WARNING! GRAPHIC IMAGES OF DEAD SEA CREATURES AHEAD!

LAST CHANCE! LOOK AWAY!

Sometimes I think we stubborn and selfish humans often overlook the importance of our rivers, oceans, seas and gulfs play in our day to day lives. The glorious waters of this good Earth yield countless varieties of food for our tables, water for our drinking, salt for our flavorings, energy for our consumption and a dearth of minerals for countless utilitarian purposes.

But on the other hand, as with all things on Earth, our waters are imperfect and provide a variety of unsavory and unsightly items, some dangerous, some disgusting and some just down right nasty!

Behold the ugly face of our planet. . .

The above fish was a Sheepshead until Beatrice caught it, to which it then became dinner, until we opened the poor guy up and found a nasty tumor inside. You can see the coagulated, bloody mass to the right that filled the empty cavity in the flesh. Obviously, we declined to dine on this specimen.

This little fellow, a red drum, was cursed with bad luck in the form of worms embedded in the flesh. I read something that indicates if cooked thoroughly, the worms become harmless. Yeah ok.

Fish? Meet garbage can.

Grossed out? Yeah, me too. Enjoy your breakfast!
