The Last Chapter. . .
Well folks, this is it. Welcome to the end of this blog. I am not sure if this is a temporary measure or if I fully intend on closing this down for the duration. All I know is that I can't do it any longer.
The last several weeks have been a terrible trauma to absorb and my higher brain function has slowed to a crawl. Something extremely rare, precious and invaluable to me has been taken away as if plucked from the hands of a child and shattered on the floor into millions of sparkling pieces right before innocent eyes. The conflux of emotions; the horror, the anger and the confusion is overwhelming and dreadful and I just don't have the motivation or willpower to continue for now.
I apologize in advance to the 25 people who show up here daily. I know this blog isn't much, but it's a part of me, my life and who I shared that life with and that's what makes it hurt so badly.
Bye y'all and thanks for stopping by!
What happened to you? I liked reading your
blog, especially about the gardening and you write so
well. Hope you are ok.
Damn Brett - say it isn't so! I'll miss the beautiful photos and your recipes. I hope all is okay in your life and this is only temp. One doesn't run into too many like-minded folks randomly these days, espcially on the web. I'll keep your blog bookmarked just in case. I'll miss you buddy.
Dude, wtf? I tried calling you a couple of times. Where you at? Call me bro.
Hi, I am currently stationed at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. I am originally from around Belzoni up in the Delta and I found your blog last year while looking for things that reminded me of home.
I am sad to hear that you will no longer be blogging because I will really miss the photographs, anecdotes and stories about Mississippi. I miss home so much sometimes and this was always a way to get a little glimpse into that. What I would give for a plate full of southern cooking!
I hope all is well with you and you are able to return soon because I will miss this outlet to home. And I'll say a prayer for you and your troubles.

Hey Brett,

Man. I hope everything is okay. I do understand that things can get overwhelming. I sincerely hope we see you back, and of course, you're always welcome to post at the big feed.
Best of luck my friend.
Don't worry folks, it will take a minute for this feller to realize that "nothing stays golden, ponyboy". In his search for a way to reassemble the millions of sparkling pieces back into his precious, he will discover the pink lacy panties that got sucked up into his vagina and remove them accordingly. It may take a while, but when this discovery happens, the toast that we all know and love will return. Have patience!!! FTW
To the last person that commented, if you can't say something nice. . .
Let the man grieve over whatever it is, he deserves at least that much and beating him while he is down is doing no
good for anyone, especially him.
I've known Brett for over 30 years and he is the most decent man you will ever know. His kindness is only outclassed by his geneosity and intelligence.
Hang in there Brett!
