Who Dat?
Man, the look on Bill Parcells' face after the onside kick during the Saints-Cowboys game last night was priceless.
For years, we poor, stupid, ignorant, narrow-minded, no-shoe-wearin', gee you actually have roads, you married your sister, didn't ya, Mississippians have had the unique and painful pleasure to be geographically displaced as to not have a professional football or any sports team worth a damn to root for, so for years we've settled on the New Orleans Saints.
If it weren't for the Atlanta Braves and WTBS The Superstation, we would have lacked any dignity and identity forever. Green Bay did good, but it's just too damn cold there.
But now, the tide has finally turned.
Yet, we still face a dilemma.
Do we root for the Giants with Manning junior junior junior?
Or Indianapolis with Manning junior junior?
Or, well, used to be Tennessee with McNair, but now he's with Baltimore and that's just too far of a stretch now.
New Orleans is looking like a real football team. They have depth, strength, running, passing, blocking and some geniuses on the sidelines who actually know how to call plays.
So what are we to do? We root with guilt, assuredly. Hey folks, remember the days of the New Orleans Caints? I am ashamed.
Rise above the rest Saints. Help us repent and redeem ourselves from past digressions, show us the light and lead us home. I and we are with you.
And if not. . .there's always Da' Bears. And sleep well at night knowing it'll never be the "Raaaiders."
