Meet My Future Ex-Wife . . .

I used to watch this soap opera (novella) called The Woman In The Mirror (La Mujer En El Espejo) which starred Paola and a raft of others. Who gives a damn who the rest were, right?

Anyway, unbelievably, she played an ugly girl, constantly berated and belittled by her mother about her looks until her aunt introduced her to a magic mirror to which she made a wish to be beautiful. The drawback was, she was only beautiful by day and at night she reverted to her original ugliness. Lots of hijinks ensued and in classic Latin American novella style, everything was over-the-top, gaudy and just utterly insano. Like when her (Paola's) boyfriend's mother tried to burn her alive, but ended up becoming disfigured herself in the fire, then she found the mirror and became the same beautiful girl as the other one, but evil, and then started going out with her own son and so on and so on.

I'm sure you're asking why I would waste one good hour of my day to watch this show. Well dammit man, just look at her!!

So, to you Paola, I say thank you for helping me improve my fluency in Spanish and secondly, if you're not doing anything next weekend maybe we could hook up and well. . .you know, do something fun. Like get married.
