Cha-Ching!
There is no easy money in this world and I've always had to work hard for the few dollars I have, so it's hard for me to drum up sympathy for people who get wrapped up in Ponzi schemes expecting an easy buck. Especially for the already rich. And double especially for the ultra-rich Palm Beach socialites I used to cook for.
I remember when I was living in Costa Rica there were two brothers, the Villalobos, who operated an investment scheme that was making phenomenal returns for it's investors. Unfortunately, it was a scam and many a person, both local and ex-pat, were caught up in the dupe. One brother is in jail and the other, I believe, it still on the run. The money? Tucked away somewhere safe, probably never to be seen again. And undoubtedly, earning interest.
The lesson here is simple: there ain't no easy money. And, you know, if you just want to give it away, I suggest giving it to me. I'll invest it wisely. No, really. I will.
