Simple. . .

. . .but unusual and surprising.

This is today's lunch. Hamburger steak in gravy with speckled butter beans and turnip greens. Great food for a growing boy.

Yet, there is something unusual about the hamburger steak. It had been smoked prior to braising, which makes sense because we had lunch at Chimneyville Smokehouse that is predominately a BBQ joint.

What a nice little touch for such a simple and oft ignored creation. I like it!
