One Can Almost Understand. . .
why some Muslims do some of the things they do.
I was browsing the tubulars of the internet and what started at Little Green Footballs as a link, you now how those links are, ended me up at a place called AsktheImam.com.
At this website, once can pose questions to the Imam about living life as a Muslim. I'm sure it must be a very confusing time for the Muslims of the world considering the current strife and mayhem. And it is a curious exercise in psychology to read some of the questions submitted and the answers that follow:
*A girl confused about washing herself (gushl) after her erratic period.
*Why Muslims cannot consume shrimp or lobster, although there seems to be some confusion over the edict in the Koran.
*What to do with chain emails that, if not forwarded, result in bad happenings.
*Or a young man, who dreamt of a girl who in private, removed her hijab to show her face and now the boy wants to marry her.
*Dying hair black. Seems it's only permissible for "mujaahid."
*Can the husband "throw his semen" over his wife's willing body. The answer is basically she is a "dirty whore."
*Can a jinn (supernatural creature) have sex with a person as they are awake or asleep. Islam has the answer.
*A strange dissertation about oral sex.
* The truth about pork.
*And finally an answer that makes complete sense.
I don't know. It's just weird to me. How would you like your life to be directed by this system of rules and obligations?
Can you say repressed (oppressed) sexuality? Islamic caliphate?
