"Americans used to say where there's a will, there's a way. Nowadays, it's where there's a pill, there's a way out." - - Burnt Toast

Monday. . .

Three miles from my house Friday night a terrible crime was committed that leads me to question the motivations and latent, potential violence which lurks in the heart and mind of the human animal.

James Bailey murdered his own daughter and her husbandin cold blood and is due in court this morning to face the charges against him. The police say the murders stem from a domestic dispute.

All of you regular readers know the story of James Turner who murdered his wife and mother-in-law the day after Christmas last year. This particular kind of act, violence against a loved one or even your own flesh and blood, can be described in no other way besides total and unfathomable insanity.

I just don't get it. How can a situation become so unresolvable that it ends with the loss of life? How could someone harbor so much anger and hate that the resolution becomes the death of someone by your own hands? It makes me sick to ponder this unanswerable question and just as with Keitha and Betty Jo, maybe there is no real answer as to why.

God will be the ultimate judge of all of man's actions and for Mr. Bailey and Mr. Turner, I hope he has mercy on your pathetic souls.
