Tuesday Heat Wave. . .

Yesterday was unbearable and today looks no better. Someone told me that the high was 105 and I wouldn't argue with that as we were getting 100 and 101 readings in the shade.

Our foundation crew who hails from the Bluegrass mountains of Kentucky and who are obviously not accustomed to this kind of oppressive heat were really struggling with it yesterday. One young fellow spent the afternoon vomiting all over the job, then all over the truck and eventually all over the hotel where they stay. This is dangerous heat to say the least. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

I didn't feel so well either as I sat at my desk doing reports until 8 o'clock last night and it took the strength of an army not to pull into the watering hole for a cold beverage last night. But, when the body says rest, rest it must be.

In the meantime, more work, more water, more Gatorade. Only a couple more weeks of this and we are done, however we are saving the worst site for last and it appears that Mother Nature will probably win that battle too as we fight against poor soil conditions.

No rest for the weary, yet.
