Caw Caw has been a part of my life for many years now.
I first met Caw Caw when Nauti Girl and Marslenjurg came to visit me in Central America. Apparently, Caw Caw was found in Mexico at a roadside stand on the side of a dusty road and has since traveled the world in style, living it up higher than any of his kind have ever before.
Here's Caw Caw and Marslenjurg partying it up in Costa Rica:
Always one for hijinks, Caw Caw recently went missing and was being held hostage by a deranged Yarn Donkey. I am happy to announce Caw Caw's safe return and you can read all about it over at Beatrice's place. She has the inside scoop!
Well folks, believe it or not, it's on again. Last year's Ferrell Fest was a rousing success with fun, food, games, great music by the Scooter Brown Band and of course, beer. Lots and lots of beer.
What was originally conceived as an annual event has now transmogrified itself into a bi-annual gathering of fine people from the Houston area. As always, Ferrell Fest is hosted by Fabrice Differdange and most certainly Nils will be there, as well as Magnulf Grislubsen.
This year's musical act will be the two man band known as Southbound. They performed recently at Nauti Girl's birthday jamboree and let me tell you something folks, they rocked. And rolled. And rocked a little more. Then rolled. And rocked once more. I think they played more than 5 or 6 hours and we never heard the same song twice unless it was by request of Marslenjurg, who wanted to hear the 12 minute live version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird over and over and over again. Long story short, they put on a great show.
Here is this year's invitation/banner of random mind jibber, courtesy of yours truly:

So, if you find yourself in the Magnolia area of Houston, drop on by for some fun and stay for a while or until you hear Nils and Fabrice say, "watch this shit!"

Man of mystery. A man of worth. Unusual, irreverent and unique. Transcending. Envied. Nonpareil and unmatched. Clearly a leader.
Behold Marslenjurg.
At one time or another he has touched each of us individually. Now, in this time of festive celebration on Nauti's birthday, he will touch everyone collectively.
Without further ado, here he is, in living technicolor, Marslenjurg Boorjgreejuglaarg and his live "pool cue air guitar" show! And as Marslenjurg always says, "Blundjoogst gormloobgen!" "Let's get it on!"
Marslenjurg plays with such finesse and confidence; the energy is palpable and infective as he blasts through oldies like "Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffet and "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" by David Allen Coe.
As the night wore on, Marslenjurg continued to bang out classic songs by Van Morrison, Roy Orbison, Weezer and Johnny Cash on his custom-made, gilded maple, Brunswick pool cue. His fingers craftily fingering each note faithfully. Amazing!
His performance was so inspiring, energy-filled and authentic that some patrons of the party couldn't help but emulate the master. But there is no equal.
And there were those that doubted, that scorned the spectacle. . .
. . .but there is no denying the greatness, the lack of ego as Marslenjurg dedicates his heart and soul for the enjoyment of the masses. It is a selfless and unselfish act of kindness, a sharing of his art, a flowering bloom of natural talent not often seen in man.
Marslenjurg Boorjgreejuglaarg. You wish you were him.
And as an added bonus, Nauti Girl has put together a live video/photo montage of the party, complete with Sit and Spin rides/calamities and a bit of Marslenjurg's act. Beware, it's not for the faint of heart.
Early at Nauti Girl's birthday party there was a rumor. And not a rumor like people having sex in the bathroom which was kinda true or some married gal grabbing everyone's junk throughout the night, also kinda true. Or first cut coke on the third floor of the house, not true.
No, this was a rumor of such magnitude and caused a ripple so great through the emotional fabric of the party, that it simply had to be true.
Someone leaked the news that Marslenjurg Boorjgreejuglaarg, father of Nils and husband of birthday girl extraordinaire Nauti Girl, was going to make a special appearance highlighting one of his multitude of talents.
Marslenjurg is a special man to many of us. Not only is he the brain trust behind his son's success as a Norwegian soap opera star and the latest reality-based sensation, "Where In The Fjord Am I" starring Nils, he is also the creator of the latest in vacuuming technology called "The Sucker."
Needless to say, anything that Marslenjurg touches turns to gold and one of his least attributed talents, among the many he has, is powerful and awe-inspiring enough to stop traffic, time and a great party dead in it's tracks.
Marslenjurg is a world champion "pool cue air guitar" player. And word is, he's gonna play tonight.
Some reaction from the crowd:
Nils: "OMG WTF!"
Beatrice: "Seriously??"
Mr. Allen Wrench (The Safety Guy) and Calliope: "We've heard it's a great show, but have never seen it."
Unknown Gentleman: "I been hearin' bout this fella fer years, bout goddamn time he come round!"
Second Unknown Gentleman: "What the hell is a Marslenjurg?"
Well, that's a great question! Marslenjurg is a. . . .
Yep, I've been traveling again. This time to cater a birthday party (sorta) for friends. You'll meet some new faces, as well as a couple who haven't been seen around here in a while.
Nils and his father, Marslenjurg Boorjgreejuglaarg, traveling in Nils' private flying machine to an unknown destination in lower Mongolia to scout a remote location for filming the newest Norwegian reality series "Furdlordanjurb Grundlegreeblorg" which translates roughly to "Where In The Fjord Am I?"
Marslenjurg explains the premise plainly, "It's the newest thing. Unique. It's all that there kinda shit like that there."
